What's behind the idea of a new car? Talking about the 500, it's a story 50 years long. A story that begins with a great classic car, goes ahead through the myth created by this car in the following decades and arrives up to Fiat's idea to make it again today, with new spirit and new contents.
This book runs shortly over the story of the classic 500, since the '50s till the '70s, and then describes in detail the process which have carried to the design of the new 500, illustrating it with a huge quantity of pictures and drawings, often unpublished before, coming from Fiat's "Centro Stile" and other departments. In fact, this book has been made with cooperation and support of Fiat, which has exceptionally made available a lot of matters related with the car development and told how involving the people has been important to create the new 500.
